About Middletown Microgreens

Our Story

Middletown Microgreens began with a simple mission. We wanted to bring the freshest, most nutrient-dense produce to our local community.

However, we noticed a problem. By the time “fresh” greens reached grocery store shelves in the Miami Valley, they had often traveled hundreds of miles. As a result, they lost flavor, texture, and nutritional value.

So, we decided to change that. Instead of shipping from far away, we grow Broccoli, Pea, Sunflower, and Red Radish Microgreens right here in Middletown. Therefore, our neighbors in Dayton and surrounding areas receive true farm-to-table freshness—often within hours of harvest.

Middletown Microgreens Growing Process

We don’t just grow greens. Instead, we focus on quality at every step.

Because our farm is indoors, we control the entire growing environment. This allows us to produce consistent, vibrant crops year-round. In addition, we grow without harsh chemicals or pesticides.

Every tray of Broccoli, Pea, Sunflower, and Crunchy Mix Microgreens is carefully monitored from seed to harvest.

Beyond our core varieties, we also embrace the broader world of microgreens. For example, growers often cultivate kale, alfalfa, arugula, mustard, and sunflower shoots. Together, these greens represent a fresh, modern approach to healthy living and restaurant-quality cuisine.

Why Choose Middletown Microgreens?

Microgreens are more than a garnish. In fact, research suggests these young plants can contain significantly higher nutrient levels than their mature counterparts.

For instance, Broccoli Microgreens are known for their sulforaphane content. Meanwhile, Sunflower shoots offer plant-based protein and satisfying crunch.

Therefore, adding microgreens to your meals is a simple way to boost nutrition. And with local delivery in the Miami Valley, it’s also convenient.

From the Warehouse to the Farm

For years, I worked long hours at Amazon. The pace was intense. The stress was constant. Over time, I felt my mental health begin to suffer.

Although I valued healthy eating and staying active, my job pulled me away from the life I wanted. Deep down, I knew I wanted something different. I wanted to be a homesteader, work with my hands, and grow my own food.

Then, at the end of 2023, I reached a breaking point. As the new year approached, I began searching for a way to turn my passion for healthy living into something meaningful. That’s when I discovered microgreens.

Suddenly, everything clicked. Microgreens offered a practical path toward the life I envisioned—right here in Middletown.

So, I took the leap.

Today, Middletown Microgreens is more than a business. Instead, it represents a personal journey toward health, balance, and sustainability. When you purchase our greens, you’re not just buying produce. Rather, you’re supporting a local dream and investing in fresh, healthy living for Dayton and Middletown.
